Loren Deutsch, MA, MEd, LCSW
Loren is the Founder and Executive Director of Loren Academic Services, Inc. (LAS). She is a licensed clinical social worker and educational therapist who works at the border of education and clinical social work. Loren is a university lecturer, consultant, national presenter, and coach. She has maintained a clinical practice since 1995, when she developed the Academic Skills Assessment Program (ASAP), at The University of Chicago.
Recognizing a growing need for integrated academic support, Loren developed a pioneering medical coaching model at the University of Chicago. This model, blending mastery learning and differentiated instruction with principles of clinical social work, evolved into the foundation of LAS. Today, LAS specializes in Coaching, Consulting, and Training, empowering high-achieving individuals in medical and general education to enhance their executive functioning and excel in their academic and professional lives.
LAS has provided coaching and consulting services to thousands of students, families, early career physicians, and faculty and training options for faculty and administrators on campuses and in medical centers nationwide. LAS also offers online webinars with training and supervision. Contact LAS to learn more.
The LAS mission: Loren Academic Services, Inc. is committed to upholding diversity, inclusion, and representation, eliminating barriers to academic and career success, and removing the silence and stigma associated with learning and psychological difficulties so that all individuals learn, achieve, and succeed in school and work, with equitable access to healthcare.
